I looked over the Internet to find more information about parasite zappers. First of all, it is important to note that the notion of parasite in the term parasite zapper has a very large meaning and includes all other microorganisms and viruses that are able to «parasitize» the human body. These devices provide a very low voltage electrical current and work supposedly by inversing the polarity of positively charged particles, including parasites, other microorganisms and viruses, as well as unhealthy tissues, causing their disintegration. As such, these devices are supposed to be able to cure all diseases, ranging from infections to cancer and obesity. However, I found no scientific evidence supporting this fact about positively charged microorganisms, viruses and unhealthy tissues and negatively charged normal healthy human tissues. Frankly, it is logically very hard to believe that a simple electric current is able to destroy all microorganisms and unhealthy tissues and treat all different type of illnesses in your body without being harmful to healthy human cells and tissues. Life is very complex and it is not that simple with all the bad stuff positively charged and all the good stuff negatively charged. Furthermore, if these claims were true, it would have been supported by several scientific studies and have already revolutionized the medical world. Moreover, it can be said that when it is too good to be true, it is usually not true.
I also want to emphasize a funny marketing claim for the parasite zapper saying that: «[a]ll zappers evidently destroy the entire range of bacteria, viruses, fungi and worms in the body by vitalizing their environment: blood, lymphatic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, sweat, mucus, intestinal contents and even inside the eyeball.» (http://www.worldwithoutparasites.com/zappers-c66/). If that claim were true, people using the zapper would unfortunately die very quickly. To understand that fact, we have to talk more about bacteria. People usually think that bacteria are bad for us. However, only a very small proportion of bacteria are really bad, but the majority of them are necessary for our life. In fact, the human body have a lot of good bacteria and also few fungi inside it and they play vital role in many functions, such as nutrient absorption, digestion and prevention of infection with pathogenic microorganisms. Collectively, all those good microorganisms are called the human microbiota. Actually, it has been estimated that there are 10 times more bacteria than human cells within a human body. So, if all bacteria were killed, more than half the cells contained in the human body will be killed and the individual will die. As such, it is obvious that someone without basic scientific knowledge has devised this kind of claim.
Finally, these devices have not been approved by any health regulation agencies, such as Health Canada in Canada and the Food and Drug Administration in the United States. Furthermore, the Food and Drug Administration pressed many charges in the past against the inventor of the parasite zapper and many companies selling this device for misrepresentation and false and unfunded claims about health benefits. These false claims of the health benefits and the efficiency of the parasite zapper were also demolished by scientific arguments in the well-known and respected American site Quackwatch (http://www.quackwatch.com/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/Cancer/clark.html) dedicated since almost 20 years to the fight against health-related frauds and myths.
